I’m sitting here watching the Battleground pay-per-view, or whatever you want to call them now. Live events? Who the fuck knows? Whatever. I’ll have a review of it up later. But I wanted to write a column about why I’d fallen behind with the wrestling coverage here on this site. Our other contributor, Matthew Conway, was more than ready to throw himself in all the way, but I fell behind. There’s a couple reasons for this.
One: I have another site, and it’s the only one that makes any money. So of course I have to focus on it first. But there’s another reason that I fell off a little bit here. While I’ve been staying up-to-date with WWE for the most part, I’ve found it harder to keep up with NJPW and some of the indies like ROH and PWG. Why? Well, it’s kind of pathetic, although I don’t think it’s too uncommon.
If you’ll remember, I started this site with my girlfriend, Kat. Wrestling was something we enjoyed together, especially NJPW. So when my relationship with her ended, I kind of had a hard time getting back into things. I guess when you share something with someone for so long, it becomes hard to enjoy that activity on your own. WWE is easier to take in because by the end of things, she pretty much hated their product lol. Thank God for silver linings!
But I’ve been catching up lately and getting past old feelings and resentments, or at least trying to. I hope to keep the site updated a lot more in the future, starting tonight. The site remains a side-project, but i still want to keep it updated with my thoughts on the industry. So look for the PPV review as well as some random thoughts on shows and wrestlers. I hope to have other people like Matthew contribute as well. We’ll see how things go. Thanks for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy the output.
